Surprising news outta MEM: after a 7-12 start, the team has decided to part ways w/ head coach David Fizdale. 

The move comes just a day after Marc Gasol (indirectly) criticized Fizdale for a 4Q benching, a game MEM lost (v. BKN, 98-88). Still, it's a move not many predicted as MEM isn't expected* to contend this season + they overachieved for a playoff berth a year ago (43-39, 7th seed).

Fizdale might have (ultimately) been doomed by MEM's shocking 7-3 record to start.

Since Mike Conley Jr. went down w/ an Achilles injury (missed last 6 games), the Grizz haven't been able to put together consistent efforts - lost 8 in row overall.

Veteran assistant (coach) JB Bickerstaff has been named interim coach.
