Isaiah Thomas: Professional Scorer

The Cavs welcomed All-Star Isaiah Thomas back to the court this past week...and it looks like he hasn't missed a beat.

In the two games since his return, IT is avg. 17 pts & 3 dimes on 50% shooting. While his competition wasn't exactly the stiffest (in terms of defensive prowess), it's impressive he's been able to seamlessly mix in his probing attack + remain highly productive despite limited minutes (under 30).

Thomas is adept at using hezzies & stop & go action to confuse opponents, with his powerful frame able to absorb contact and finish at the basket. And when he puts his head down at an angle, it's tough to corral him off the bounce:

It's (obviously) early so we don't know the full effects of an IT-LeBron James (PnR) led offense but they both complement each other well w/ their ability to (patiently) find open teammates & force defenders to converge.

Thomas loves to attack the rim but keeping note of his free throw rater (after injury) is a storyline to watch - some players don't always maintain the same aggression right after a major injury. But as LeBron put it, Isaiah is a "professional scorer."

He's earned that distinction over the last few seasons - the past couple games did nothing but reassure that thinking.
