Kyrie Irving Leads C's to 16th Straight W
Another day, another impressive Celtics victory. It's a recurring theme so far this season - throughout some semblance of adversity, BOS just digs deep and finds a way to win.
Case in point last night @ DAL.
After getting out to a 34-22 lead after 1, BOS poor second quarter (outscored 27-19) allowed Dallas new life, gave them enough leeway to regain some control. Now, the Mavs aren't as bad as their 3-15 record indicates but on the road, it was key for Brad Stevens's group to set the tone in some fashion.
Well, Kyrie Irving certainly got the message - he went 9/10 in the first 24, scoring 25 points w. triples.
But another (subpar) 15 game min. later, BOS fell down 13 and needed to rely on a 4th quarter comeback for 16 straight.
Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown (22 & 9 boards), Jayson Tatum (15 & 9 boards, two 4Q finishes in transition) & Marcus Smart (12 & 8 dimes) led the charge, never questioned whether they'd pull it out (third game in a row they trailed by double figures).
K. Irving help seal the deal in OT scoring 6 quick points (& cashing clutch Fts) en route to a season-high 47 pts! & 6 dimes.
BOS is 18 games into the year and this is the first, true Kyrie explosion...yet, they hold the league's best record & are on the 4th longest tear in Celtics history.
They go for 17 tomorrow @ MIA.
