Jaren Jackson Jr. - 15 pts in Preseason Debut
Many people believe MEM’s Jaren Jackson Jr. could emerge as the 2018’s top overall player in a few years.
The youngest in his class, JJJ possesses a lot of new wave tendencies, including the ability to stretch the floor, protect the basket & scoring on his own.
In his preseason debut v. HOU (131-115 loss), JJJ scored 15 pts in 19 min. off the bench - he went 6/6 from the field, including (1/1) on his patented, “push” triple.
It wasn't a flawless performance, however. Despite a strong game offensively, it was a mixed bag on the other end. JJJ looked good on switches, but still fell victim to a few “mismatch” threes courtesy of James Harden (fouled, converted 4-pt. play) & Chris Paul.
Overall, it was a positive debut for the 4th pick. Both JJJ’s immediate production and development are critical for Memphis moving forward.
