DELAYBARO NOTES

Giannis’s injury (obviously) changes everything. Although he did not suffer any ligament damage to his knee, he could either miss some time or be limited if able to play. The prevailing theme for Milwaukee over the last couple years has been both a lack of urgency & inconsistency from the supporting cast. Three players in double digits (Holiday, Middleton & Giannis) just won’t cut it v. a team like Altanta that features multiple scoring threats, even without Trae Young.

• Love that Big O (USC’s Onyeka Okongwu!) is already playing a strong role as Nate McMillan’s featured backup big. His ability to switch and contest shots + protect the rim is valuable - seems like every night he comes up w/ a momentum-shifting dunk or block.

ATL has a deep, young core: Cam Reddish is the latest example. In only game back since February, Reddish provided scoring & strong defense for Coach McMillan. The fact he’s already able to contribute bodes well for ATL moving forward, regardless of the outcome of this series. That said, the Hawks are just 2 wins away from the NBA Finals. Further consistency outta Okongwu & Reddish gives them a real shot in a best-of-3 scenario.

Lou Williams played a masterful game in Trae Young’s absence. The numbers (21, 8 & 5) don’t even tell the full story: his pace of play & poise led ATL’s effort in getting a clean look nearly every time down the court. Despite missing an All-NBA talent, ATL’s young guns were neither rattled or rushed the action, which says a lot in a game of that nature - much of it should be attributed to the steadiness of Lou Will.
