(2) WARRIORS V. (1) ROCKETS
GAME 1 - WEST FINALS
GSW 119 @ HOU 106!
Last night's matchup is only one contest but in the spirit of overreaction, it didn't bode well for the Houston Rocket's chances at beating the defending champs. No, not because they simply lost the first game, but mostly because of the way they lost the first game.
The Rockets are who they are and got to where they've gotten (the number one seed in the Western conference w/ the MVP of the league leading the ship) by being who they are. Last night they attempted to be that same team and although it looked promising in the two quarters (both ending in a one-point differential), the Warriors blew the door off the handles in the third quarter being who they are.
In order to have a chance in this series, the Rockets are going to have to incorporate some different looks into their offense to break up the gluttony of iso-ball against this well-tempered and disciplined defensive team.
Unfortunately, it may be too late in the season for that, down 0-1 in the Western conference finals.
