(2) WARRIORS V. (4) CAVS
GAME 4 - NBA FINALS
GSW 108 @ CLE 85
Golden State Warriors: 2018 Champions.
No matter your feelings towards the (now) back to back champs, it's "mission accomplished" for the second year in a row. A formulaic, 4-game sweep of Cleveland puts a slight damper on things but this isn't anything new: ALL championship teams need some combination of team play, resilience, injury luck & star power to win it all.
For 3 of the last 4 seasons, Golden State's had the perfect mix.
3x champ Steph Curry led the charge in Game 4, dropped 37! pts w/ 6 boards & 3 blocks. But it was teammate Kevin Durant who went home with MVP honors for the second year in a row - Durant had a nonchalant triple-double in GM. 4, had very little resistance the entire season.
With another Finals in the books, a few questions need to be answered:
Where will LeBron James end up in free agency?
Will any stars join up this summer?
Can Golden State return the same (or better) lineup for 2018-19?
The answer to each question will determine how things shake out next season. After the draft, LeBron's free agency decision will kick start an exciting trend of roster/player movement.
But for now, the Larry O'Brien trophy belongs to the Bay - is a three-peat on the way?
