DySOn DAniels @ BOS (11/12) • 28! points, 7 DIMES & 6! STEALS, W
The first night of the 2024-25 Cup produced the biggest upset of the year (so far). Playing on the road, against the defending-champion Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels led a spirited, two-way charge to a W. The Hawks trailed by almost 20 points in the 3rd but rallied back to make it a one possession game in the 4th. An Onyeka Okongwu tip-in eventually secured the upset.
Daniels harassed Boston all night long: he finished w/ 7! steals (avg. 6.3! spg over his last 3 games). Oh by the way, Trae Young, De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kobe Bufkin, and more all sat out via ijury. The play of Daniels & Jalen Johnson (trip-double v. BOS: 18, 13 & 10 dimes) makes ATL an interesting team near the 4-10 range in the East.
ATL improved to 1-0 in the Cup (5-7 overall), while BOS fell to 0-1 (9-3 overall).
