The Charlotte Hornets picked up a couple of “scoring” prospects in the 2023 NBA Draft: #2 Pick Brandon Miller & #27 Pick Nick Smith Jr.
Currently, Miller’s more known as an impressive perimeter scorer who needs some improvement as a finisher inside the line. Smith Jr., on the other hand, must work on his efficiency but there’s no doubting his natural skill as a dynamic ball-handler & shot creator - he got into a really nice groove as the game went along, seemingly gaining supreme confidence with each made field goal.
Both of them showcased their “ideal skill set” in a narrow loss to Portland on Tuesday.
The considerable upside of Charlotte’s new (rookie) duo is key: they’re starting to stockpile additional finishers & playmakers to alleviate pressure off All-Star LaMelo Ball (who recently re-signed a 5/year max contract).
