Philly locked a key member of its core yesterday. According to reports, the Sixers are finalizing a 4 yr./$62 million extension for starting forward Robert Covington.
The contract is slated to keep Covington under contract til the 2021-2022 campaign.
Very solid move for PHI, as Covington's constantly improving, has emerged as Brett Brown's top perimeter stopper - avg. a career-best 16.5 points & 5.7 boards, he's proven a reliable third option next to J. Embiid & B. Simmons.
Undrafted outta Tennessee State in 2013, Covington has career averages of 12.7 ppg & 5.6 rpg.
