BRANDON MILLER (CHA)
FUTURE TOP DOG
NBA ROLE: SKILLED, TWO-WAY WING
The latest in the line of enormous, highly-skilled wings to break into the Association, Brandon Miller gets it done; “lulls you to sleep” athletically: Miller frequently baits defenders into a sense of comfort, then rushes to the rim for a smooth finish or big jam; some shades of Paul George to his game: makes a point to defend (good shot-blocker for a 3 man: really sells out on shots) & can square up and knock down Js from outside; creative finisher when afforded some room in the lane: has a couple of nice floats + hanging finishes off the bounce; doesn’t really force the action too much: patience should lead to higher shooting percentages in first couple of seasons - can’t play it “too cool” v. similarly elite NBA athletes though, must continue to incorporate a variety of shots as the defense picks up on initial tendencies; very solid base but needs to work on ball-handling, particularly when starting action from beyond the arc; deep range on triples, quick shot release suggests a ton of efficient volume as he matures and settles into different shot types/adjusts to defensive coverage; ikes to pick the ball up & cuff it before going off the glass (in close); underrated playmaker (prefers efty feeds as a primary PnR ball-handler), future lead playmaker in certain spots?; Miller showed out as a rookie, has a nice chance to approach 20 ppg as a sophomore
