Former Utah State star Sam Merrill is an excellent floor spacer who can get his own bucket - can’t ever leave him alone from deep, is in constant motion searching for an opportunity to fire; uses dribble handoffs very well, will turn down & hunt a better shot if the initial look isn’t there; good ball-handler, can rise up for Js (out of his own dribble) on either side; soft touch in the lane - Merrill has a soft floater that’s becoming a true, go-to move; quick, deliberate action when headed to the basket - attacks as soon as there’s an opening, can get in & finish without too much difficulty; not just a shooter but needs to prove playmaking & defensive abilities at the NBA level; signed multi-year deal in Cleveland (2023): Merrill’s accurate sniping is vital
