BRANDON WILLIAMS (DAL)
UNDERDOG
NBA ROLE: PLAYMAKER
Former Arizona Wildcat Brandon Williams signed w/ Trail Blazers with a couple months left in the ’21-’22 season and took tremendous advantage* of his playing time - put up nice numbers and showcased true potential as a full-time playmaker; savvy, shot-creating 1 who can (also) really get a bucket for himself off a live ball; good burst to the rim: Williams has a tight handle that allows him to chain into advancing moves down the lane (gets in deep and scores via short shots & lay-ins); nice pull-up scorer, fires when open from midrange or deep; great distributor w/ a eye for anticipating plays: able to whip in passes to open bigs outta the PnR; (much) higher efficiency is something to watch; able to adjust to a backup/spot playmaking role? - the quicker Williams can get/stay up to speed, the more depth he adds in Dallas
*started 16 games at the end of the season (avg. just under 13 points/night)
