TYRESE HALIBURTON (IND)
TOP DOG
NBA ROLE: CREATIVE, GO-TO PLAYMAKER
Tyrese Haliburton: impressive playmaker w/ multiple layers to his game; tremendous skill, hustles like he’s trying to make the team - Haliburton is no stranger to selling out for loose balls, keeps plays alive through activity & effort; interesting scorer: very solid float game, does damage w/ a “push-shot” jumper that extends out to downtown - Haliburton doesn’t get much elevation but also doesn’t need much room or opportunity to launch from well beyond the arc (pretty accurate despite aesthetic); extreme control of the ball, creative dribbler w/ a low burst to the rim, does a great job finding teammates after penetrating the defense - excellent “lob-thrower,” Haliburton also features a ton of creative ways to hit bigs on bounce passes for easy buckets near the rim; excellent defensive activity: fights around screens, has “1v1 rip-up” ability & frequently converts steals into buckets on the other end; stuffs the stat sheet: does all of the little things coaches love that wins games; values possessions like no other, won’t often waste action or commit silly turnovers; strong leadership qualities, invites big moments; needs to continue to develop off the dribble scoring & finishing thru contact - devoid of many glaring weaknesses; true catalyst for success - Haliburton is a go-to playmaker: made 1st All-Star team in 2023!; signed max deal, led Pacers to ECF in 2024: Haliburton has tremendous upside as Indiana’s leader of the future
