“Smooth meets confidence” – the best way to summarize D’Angelo Russell’s game; Russell features great passing & playmaking instincts – adjusts well to the ebbs and flows of games; makes difficult dimes look easy, can thread the needle in tight spots – always has his head up on the run; upright dribbling stance – has a really old-school feel – shoots about as quick as Dick Barnett back in the day*, doesn’t exert too much energy; effective in-between, (lefty) float game – also does well w/ probing Js between defenders; talented, lefty shooter from deep, though very streaky – can get hot quick; better efficiency, valuing possessions & defensive intensity are a few areas to improve; cold bloodstream: Lakers’ starting PG, great potential on LA’s revamped roster: can DLo maximize his talent and help lead a deep postseason run?
