KEVIN LOVE (MIA)
SALTY DOG
NBA ROLE: (VETERAN) INSIDE-OUT POWER FORWARD
In his prime, there’s no doubt that K-Love was one of the league’s top bigs – grabbed at least 10 boards every single night, feasted from the mid-post (and later downtown), tough to check in the paint; adjusted to a lesser role during CLE's title appearances (won a chip for his efforts!); spaces the floor perfectly for penetrating guards (allows room for driving lanes) – excellent PnR partner; plays a lot of five: stretches out opposing bigs, though not the most ideal defensive complement v. smaller, more uptempo lineups; master outlet passer – with a flicka da wrist, Love zips terrific touchdown passes to streaking teammates; has aged gracefully into a top reserve who helps maintain offensive rhythm in the second unit; signed w/ Heat (2023) – remains effective as his career winds down: Love’s positive play is normally a barometer for success
