A second round steal* by the Pelicans, Herbert Jones is an absolute ace on the defensive end; lockdown defender from Day 1: Jones quickly earned a starting role through elite production as a stopper; excellent fundamentals, does a great job of sliding and cutting his man off while using his length to close out perfectly, as well as affect passing & driving lanes; prototypical glue guy but with skill - Jones is a slick scorer in the league, complements defensive abilities with a respectable outside J (likes the corner) and moves towards the rim; needs to continue to work on playmaking, rebounding & scoring with a live ball; puts everything into place for New Orleans - Jones has already exceeded early expectations in the league - won’t be long until he fully evolves into a bonafide, two-way wing
