FRANZ WAGNER (ORL)
STAR UNDERDOG
NBA ROLE: VERSATILE, ALL-AROUND FORWARD
Michigan’s Franz Wagner is a highly functional, modern forward w/ a refined game; gets to where he needs to go offensively: a bit methodical at times, Wagner knows how to get all the way in for scores, has a few counter pull-ups if the drive isn’t available; effective euro step - go-to weapon to gain an advantage; uses size correctly, does well exploiting mismatches; solid outside shooter, better than expected to kick off career (becoming more comfortable off the bounce); able to handle responsibility as a high-volume scorer - averaged nearly 20 ppg in Year 3; nice distributor who plays w/ his head up, doesn’t often force reads; (predictably) plays well off his brother, Moe Wagner; active defender: stays in passing lanes, nice anticipation for blocks; continuing to develop ball-handling & defensive effectiveness heightens upside; 1/3 of a budding frontcourt trio that also ft. Paolo Banchero & Wendell Carter Jr.; excellent prospect in Orlando: Franz is one of the most versatile young talents in the Association - Top DOG ceiling in 2025?
