SCOTTIE BARNES (TOR)
TOP DOG
NBA ROLE: POSITIONLESS, TWO-WAY PLAYMAKER
Scottie Barnes is a monster on the court: highly energetic, 6’9 playmaker who naturally contributes game-changing plays on both ends of the floor; great at filling the lane and starting the break: Barnes has long strides with or without the ball, tries to make things easy on himself (and teammates) by hunting for quick opportunities; very good distributor: can hit the open man off the bounce or initiate action in transition - further experience operating as a primary ball-handler will make Barnes even tougher to deal with; underrated midrange attack: doesn’t need a lot of space to cash a pull-up, also features plenty of push shots and short runners; will be impossible to check with an even steadier outside J (from deep) and more polish as a shooter and scorer off the dribble; great rebounder, looks to transfer energy on defensive side into offensive chances; 2024 All-Star: moves the needle - already an important cog with great productivity, Barnes could emerge as the face of the franchise in 2025
