JORDAN CLARKSON (UTA)
HYBRID
NBA ROLE: HIGHLY-SKILLED, GO-TO COMBO GUARD
The 2021 Sixth Man of the Year, Jordan Clarkson is an offensive-minded combo guard w/ a variety of ways to get buckets; preys below the three-point line – smells blood if given too much space to operate after a high screen, loves relying on probing jumpers, step backs, floaters and easy finishes near the rim; much improved 3-point shooter (37% in 2020) – easy release, pops into shots; more of scorer/driver than set up man in the PnR – able to make the extra pass but can get tunnel vision if too focused on getting a shot up; consistency has caught up to talent; borderline Top DOG, 1-2 scoring punch w/ Lauri Markkanen; found a true home in Utah (re-signed in 2023), A1 as a starter or in Unit #2 – Clarkson provides a huge spark offensively: counted on for at least 15-18/night
