UnderDOGs Stepping Up in Memphis?
Last night, the Grizzlies pulled off a mild upset: a 105-101 victory over the upstart Philadelphia 76ers. The Grizz capitalized on 24! TOs and support from a few key UnderDOGs to get it done..
Jarell Martin: START - 12 pts, 8 boards & 2 steals.
In place of JaMychal Green, Jarell Martin returned to the starting five and produced one of his best outings of the year - cashed 1 triple, got to the line 6 times (made 5) and had a decent night on the glass (8).
Martin's been up & down this year, from DNP-CD-bench-starter. Is it a springboard for consistent outings in the future?
Myke Henry: career-high 12! pts, 4! steals, 2 dimes & 2 boards (off bench).
Introducing...Myke Henry. A G-League call-up from the Memphis Hustle, Henry made the most of extended minutes last night: career-high 12 pts (off bench) to go along w/ 4 steals & a couple dimes + boards.
Henry played 16 minutes in Dave Joerger's second unit, played pivotal 4Q minutes as MEM held off PHI. His activity in the passing lanes was impressive, as was his 3/5 shooting from deep. Look for more PT in the future.
Mario Chalmers*: 17!, 3 & 3 dimes (off bench)
Chalmers had one of his best games since the early part of the year: 17, 3 & 3 boards off the bench. He, Tyreke Evans (18) & Myke Henry (12) accounted for a good chunk of MEM's scoring outta the backcourt.
*Salty DOG but still counts?
