SUBJECT: P. WILLIAMS
TRACKING: 1/31-2/4 • V. LAC, v. CHA, V. POR
Chicago’s Patrick Williams is the focus of our latest “Tracking…” period. Billy Donovan’s starting 4, the talented forward is a critical part of CHI’s core. His productivity, or lack thereof, is oft a topic of discussion - the better he performs, the higher CHI’s chances are of winning on any given night.
With Chicago in the midst of a playoff push, we’ll take note of how Pat plays and how much influence he has on winning basketball. Always tasked with defending the toughest perimeter player, it’s key to feature how Pat performs offensively during a week where he’s matched w/ guys like Kawhi Leonard & Jerami Grant.
It’s well-known everyone - from coaches & teammates to commentators & supporters - wants to see an “aggressive” version of Pat on the offensive end. Not just for the complementary scoring but because his high talent level, as a shooter & scorer, hasn’t matched in terms of volume.
He needs to continue to trust his shot (avg. 15.5 points/night over his last couple of contests) while maintaining aggression as a rebounder & playmaker.
