PATRICK WILLIAMS (CHI)
UNDERDOG
NBA ROLE: VERSATILE, TWO-WAY FORWARD
Versatility is the name of the game for Chicago’s Patrick Williams, a promising forward w/ high two-way potential; great defensive framework - strong base, able to defend multiple positions, wants the responsibility of the toughest matchup on a nightly basis; does well on help, plays passing lanes - able to convert points off takeaways; offensively, Williams is currently most comfortable scoring off 1-2 dribble jumpers, spotting up & driving down the lane; huge hands, likes short, hanging floaters & other one-handed shots (releases ball at its peak), able to improvise layups into dunks or switch hands before the finish; effective outside shooter w/ tremendous arc on his J (needs to quicken release, however) - rainbow 3 is money from the corner; raw, yet very promising playmaking prowess: impressive passer off the dribble - PnR responsibilities at some point?; needs to further improve ball-handling & overall arsenal of moves off the dribble; notable contributor in almost every area of the stat sheet; near Star UnderDOG, though Williams could still be poised to grow even further; is 2025 “now or never” for Williams in Chicago?
