Chicago’s Julian Phillips is a springy, athletic forward who has a nose for the ball; fights in the trenches for steals, looks to keep plays alive and board misses on both ends; small forward prospect in CHI: Phillips projects as a true 3, which the Bulls desperately need to cultivate; good release point, comfortable shooting from the corner as a rookie (encouraging mechanics on his J): must prove he’s a bullseye shooter in limited minutes; in line for a role upgrade in Year 2: if the Bulls push a rebuild, Phillips will force Billy Donovan to give him an extended look
