NBA ROLE: HIGHLY SKILLED, GO-TO PIVOT
One of the more overlooked bigs in the league, Nikola Vucevic has finally entered the national conversation as a true star center – Vuc is literally good for about 20 & 10/night; daily double-double – always gets it done on the glass (uses size well to get great positioning) – not the most athletic but Nik does perfect job walling off his man & securing extra chances via tip-ins/tip-outs, pursues the ball & makes a point to finish off possessions; offensively, Vuc is very comfortable as a multiple level scorer: converts hooks w/ either hand – loves immediate shots to catch defenders off guard – Vuc has nice pop out to downtown, can score via faders, turnarounds & drive by fellow bigs off the dribble; improved defender, though not a premiere rim protector – needs ideal defensive coverages to exceed expectations; 2x All-Star who’s aiming for postseason success in Chicago; re-signed for 3 years (2023): Vuc has commanded more responsibility on offense – underrated leg of Billy Donovan’s Big 3 – can Nik stay consistent and help lead a charge in 2024?
