The 38th overall pick in 2019, Daniel Gafford’s an outstanding athlete at both interior spots; quick second jumper, consistent lob option from anywhere/angle - huge dunk zone* off roll catches (plays big, finishes w/ power); excellent shot-blocker, takes time & waits for opponent to make a mistake before sending back; able to outwork (& jump) a lot of bigs for boards - strong on the o-glass, huge putback threat; must develop 15-17 foot jumper; hook game = work in progress, a couple go-to moves will make a big difference; top tier athlete from day 1 - noticeable every time he plays; traded to Mavs (2024) - awesome fit in Dallas (great, 1-2 big man duo w/ Dereck Lively II) - NBA Finals starter: Gafford’s a huge spark plug
