The 12th overall pick in 2019, PJ Washington is a switchable stretch four; able to attack the rim (can finish despite contact, nice float game), hit midrange Js, convert after roll catches, post up (scores w/ quick hooks); primarily focuses on defense and scoring beyond the arc - dips his hand in many different pots; great shot-blocker for a four man - can play on the perimeter and also bang against larger players in the paint; needs to continue improving pull-up attack + consistent playmaking on a nightly basis; great secondary scorer, can get buckets without a ton of set up; scoring potential; “catalyst” upside - PJ’s energy is noticeable on both ends - out hustles opponents; capable small ball 5; traded to Mavs (2024): Washington’s a complementary part of Dallas’s core
