All-Star Anthony Edwards aka “Ant-Man”: #1 overall pick in 2020, go-to shooting guard in Minnesota; very powerful athlete w/ great size and “no-holds-barred” finishing skills - Edwards has great ball-handling ability at 6’4, has a strong upper body & creative control heading to the basket; flight tag, skies over the top of defenders - scary on the break: high riser w/ the ability to flush or improvise into a below the rim finish; good hands, light touch as a finisher near the basket; good shake off the dribble, likes rocker step backs and pull-up Js; recognizes mismatches, likes to attack smaller defenders - future go-to post option? (would add unique element); very creative offensive player who’s very difficult to control 1v1, will continue to evolve as he becomes more comfortable; good defensive upside, must focus on stopping top perimeter opponents on a nightly basis; three-point shot is a weapon, very capable getting into triples off the dribbles - high-volume: accuracy will improve w/ more reps; great 1-2 scoring punch w/ KAT, new (backline) defensive complement in Rudy Gobert; made 1st All-Star team in 2023!, re-upped for a maximum, 5-year deal later that summer: Edwards is a superstar on the rise - great situation to come into his own on a Wolves squad with high hopes in 2024
