NICKEIL ALEXANDER-WALKER (MIN)
UNDERDOG
NBA ROLE: TWO-WAY COMBO GUARD
Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a guard to watch out for: upside as a long-term, two-way playmaker; sequence defender w/ the ability to make plays; likes to pressure the ball - NAW’s generally in the mix for blocks & steals outta the backcourt; goes hard to the rim, uses size to gain an advantage going to the cup (does a great job hesitating then leveraging his body for a score), can finish w/ either hand; impressive scorer & distributor at this stage: operates well outta the PnR (natural passer), attacks via floaters, pull-up Js & is confident launching from deep after a screen (threatens from all 3 levels); future go-to post game?; inconsistent shooter, needs to value efficient shot attempts and let action come naturally; traded to T-Wolves (2023), NAW played well as a fill-in starter during the 2023 Postseason, figures to play an even larger role in 2024
