“Grand Theft Alvarado”: Jose’s a highly competitive PG who provides an important energy shift whenever he’s in the lineup for New Orleans; on the defensive end, Alvarado excels at ball pressure* and creating steals - truly able to pick up guys full court and create havoc; has a knack for creating & turnovers off the inbound - (legitimately) disguises himself near his bench in the corner & darts back to disrupt simple passes/initial dribble moves; good pull-up shooter w/ a nice base: Alvarado trusts his jumper, should improve accuracy w/ more reps over time; light touch finishing on the inside (has a couple giant killers and runners once in the paint); nice understanding of PnR reads, comfortable & confident making plays for teammates; another, (very) solid young role player in New Orleans - Alvarado shifts momentum off Willie Green’s bench
