NBA ROLE: (RAW) TWO-WAY PLAYMAKER

Miles “Deuce” McBride: a tough lead guard w/ useful skill on both ends of the floor; great defensive prospect, takes on the challenge of limiting his matchup - slides feet very well, keeps ground despite 6’2 frame; very good pull-up shooter, fundamental base - Deuce loves getting into his own shot after a couple size up/set up bounces; swift first step, able to get a beat by opponents and score in close - athleticism and creativity gives him an edge once at the basket; breakdown scorer w/ a tight handle: behind the back —> step back J is a key move, along w/ a host of other shots between the lines (doesn’t shy away from midrange game); does well initiating screen & rolls, threatens both the shot and the pass at (more than) respectable levels; nice float game, sets up defenders after quick crosses (wide, advancing dribbles) - able to probe in the lane; quick release from downtown suggests high volume, though needs balance shooting & playmaking; valued by Coach Thibs: McBride’s defensive intensity could lead to a bigger role in 2024
