SANDRO MAMUKELASHVILI (SAS)
UNDERDOG
NBA ROLE: ALL-AROUND BIG
Sandro Mamukelashvili: multi-talented lefty big w/ inside-out touch; got on after starring for the Wisconsin Herd in ’21-’22, later landed w/ the rebuilding Spurs; good hands: has short shots and can pop back for triples (very solid form, can get into a consistent rhythm); can push the ball/bring it up the floor: likes to finish w/ his off-hand, has the athleticism to beat other bigs down the court and score on the break; underrated defender: not a classic rim protector but uses his size well when defending the basket - disciplined, has great timing; can switch and defend certain matchups; outstanding rebounder (avg. over 10/night in the G League as a rook) - could control the glass in short minutes to start out; good passer, can make reads after screening (finds open shooters); interesting, second round prospect to watch - upside as skilled role player - can Mamu stake claim as a primary backup for Coach Pop’s rotation in 2025?
