Victor Wembanyama: never seen anyone like him…EVER; legitimate, 7’4 prodigy with an excellent basketball IQ & unmatched skill set - can bring the ball up & initiate, find the open man, and score in a number of ways; freak wingspan but has a fluid game and motions that serve him to a tee: won’t get thrown off his rhythm/will be tough for Wemby not to make a real impact, in any given area, each night; scoring efficiency is a main statistic to monitor during his first couple of seasons: has to fully adapt to stronger opponents, shot selection as the #1 guy circled on scouting reports and prioritization of layups/dunks v. outside shots; already has a few different signature moves: whenever Wemby fully utilizes his talent and frame, he pulls off some of the most awe-inspiring moves we’ve ever seen (layups, dunks, triples, blocks); also features step back treys, pull-ups…if Wemby masters a few, go-to hooks and turnarounds, he’ll be indefensible; very impressive playmaker off the dribble; will need to adjust to quick, athletic guards/forwards trying to dig whenever he puts the ball on the floor; strength training is key: Spurs will be patient as he grows into his (potentially) dominant frame; incredibly elite on the defensive side - instant, Top 2 overall Watch DOG who averaged over 4 stocks in year 1 - certain to win a DPOY in the next couple of seasons; how fast can he turn SA into a winner? - it’s important for fans, coaches, and the organization to stay patient - will be burdened with a lot, but early returns/results are unpredictable due to the nature of SA’s young roster; when it’s all said and done, Wemby could be in a league of his own as a talent/ALPHA player in the NBA; SA’s Undisputed Franchise Player: banner year as a rook* - can Wemby lead San Antonio back to the playoffs in 2025?
