NBA ROLE: Multi-LEVEL PLAYMAKER
1/2 of SA’s youthful (backcourt), scoring duo*, Malaki Branham broke onto the scene/draft boards late into his freshman season w/ the Buckeyes - impressive, 6’5 scorer/playmaker; trouble for the opposition offensively: Branham has a quick “push” shot that isn’t swayed by a tough close out (can get his shot off under duress); downtown volume is a positive sign nearly on: Branham relies on the 3 ball as a means to set the tone & carry offensive production; has a special trait of getting between and doing damage w/ his float game or short pull-up; underrated playmaker: able to find open scorers after penetrating; projects as a solid perimeter defender (is aided by a long wingspan) - how quickly can/will he improve on that end?; looks like another draft steal in San Antonio: Malaki’s got a prime hold in Coach Pop’s lineup, could evolve into a 10+ scorer as a 3rd-year pro in 2025
