Jaden’s a Future Top DOG w/ All-Star prospects in the Motor City; the latest in a recent line of dynamic playmakers to enter the NBA, Ivey has all the tools to standout at the 1; nearly every advancing movement Ivey makes in the half & open court is a precursor to a ridiculous burst of speed - if he gets a step by his man, he’s already got a strong beat towards the rim (doesn’t hesitate to throw down w/ authority); solid outside shooter, though doesn’t launch at a high volume yet - likes to rise around screens, can create his own three-point looks; nice command of the PnR, needs to continue working on passing v. shooting, especially when playing off the ball; very good backcourt rebounder, likes to control possessions and play uptempo after misses; moves well on defense but will take some time learning the nuances of successfully defending his position each night; very productive as a rook: Jaden’s on the right path to star in Detroit - can he help lead a (sort of) renaissance alongside Cade Cunningham & Jalen Duren down the line?
